About Mrs. HackMy name is Carly Hack. I am thrilled to teach first grade at Saint John XXIII Roman Catholic School Community. This is my nineteenth year of teaching. Prior to teaching first grade, I taught kindergarten here at Saint John XXIII. I have also worked in Texas as a first grade teacher. I graduated from Western Michigan University in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and minors in Math, Science, and Integrated Creative Arts. I also have my SEI endorsement and am a certified Autism Specialist.
I have served as team leader for our primary grades (k-2) here at SJXXIII, been part of the CARE team anti-bullying committee, served as representative for the Diocesan Staff Development Committee and also chaired on the student development and growth school study for our accreditation visit. I have also enjoyed joining other Diocesan teachers on the Research Committee serving to investigate instructional methods and models to address a multitude teaching and learning styles, how devices enhance and limit learning, the brain’s response to various methods/models, personalized and blended learning models, and universal design for learning. This year I look forward to continuing another year serving on the REAL Committee. I absolutely love working with children and I feel blessed everyday to be able to teach in a school that believes in a Catholic faith-based education. I am Catechist ministry certified and look forward to taking more classes that continually strengthen my faith. I enjoy spending time with my husband and two children, Brayden and Brielle. You may recognize my husband as a Investment/Insurance Advisor with Vanguard or as a youth soccer coach for the RSL Soccer Club. Brayden is turning eleven years old and is excited to enter fifth grade here at Saint John XXIII and participate in the school sports. Brielle is eight and full of smiles! She is excited to be in third grade this year. I have such a grateful heart that both my children are attending this wonderful school with me. God truly blessed me when he made me a mother. Being a teacher is a very rewarding experience and I learn something new everyday! Children really are our future and everyday I am thankful to be on this journey lighting the way for them. PhilosophyI am aware that each student has their own individual needs and it is my philosophy that I, as a teacher, need to discover the most effective way for students to learn today by meeting each one where they are. Christ meets us all where we are and I am thankful for that each day. I challenge my students while also challenging myself to grow and continually learn new ways to ensure success of all children. I believe that parents are the primary educators and I look forward to walking beside you during this educational journey for your child.
May God Bless You All! |
