Olweus Meeting Topic:
- No Spelling this week due to ITBS Testing
- ITBS testing continues. Please make sure your child is getting plenty of sleep, as well as a nutritious breakfast. Also, coming to school on time is very important as we will test shortly after the bell.
- Please recall the email sent out with the link for parents to take a survey on their child in the way of how they are growing as a REAL student. Please take time to complete that survey.

- Reading: Students will read “The Reptile Room” with purpose and understanding and will answer literal, inferential, and evaluative questions about key details in the text.
- Language (Grammar, Spelling): Students will use regular present- and future-tense verbs orally and will write and sort verbs into present- and future-tense categories; Students will read, spell, and write words with ‘ed’ > /t/, ‘ed’ > /d/, and ‘ed’ > /ed/ and the Tricky Word have.

- Primary Focus Skill: Exploration of the Moon
- Speaking and Listening: Students will describe the experiences of the first astronauts.
- Reading: Students will describe the first landing on the moon.

Religion:
- SWBA to understand Jesus’ mission on earth was to teach the Good News, win back God’s grace and give it to others; He wanted his work to continue after He returned to the Father; He founded the Catholic Church to continue His work after He returned to Heaven
- SWBA to understand that the church teaches about Jesus and dispenses His grace; Jesus works in and through the Church; Catholics enter the church when they are baptized.
- SW learn that Jesus is the founder of the Church; The four marks of the Church are : One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic; Christ established a hierarchy in the Church; We will review Apostolic Succession, which began with Peter succeeding Christ as the visible head of the Church
- SW learn about the present leadership in the Church, including the current Pope and local bishops and priest; The Successor of Peter lives in the Vatican
Science/Social Studies:
- Record Daily Weather
- See “knowledge” lessons above- the standards are cross curricular
- SWBA to learn and understand our solar system by identifying patterns, sun, moon phases, seasons (day and night), celestial objects, and contributions to scientific innovations.
Olweus Meeting Topic:
- CARE meetings
- Learn that sharing, cooperating, taking turns, being kind, and helping are ways to show respect for other people
- We will discuss the link between showing respect and having friends
Spelling Words
Spelling Words will come home on 4/8/23 and tested on FRIDAY
